After a four year break in between albums, Jonny Lang turns in his first ever live CD, which was recorded in 2008 during a tour behind the blues barnburner Turn Around. Though he may have shifted towards an inspirational lyrical tone, his guitar playing is just as fierce as ever throughout this career spanning set, from the hushed “A Quitter Never Wins” to the husky breakthrough “Lie To Me.”

Even though he nails every note, a recording just doesn’t do the live experience justice, skipping all of those painstaking facial expressions and visual playfulness of full band jam sessions. Of course, Lang returns to the road this summer for fans to catch the act firsthand, though hopefully he’ll hit the studio again sometime soon.
