Keane
Night Train

Campus Correspondent Review By Andy Argyrakis,

It was bad enough that Keane abandoned its lush Brit-pop direction for dance rock on 2008’s Perfect Symmetry, let alone recorded another like-minded project during that tour. Aside from sounding rushed and all too short (a mere eight tracks at barely over a half hour), the group is clearly confused with its identity and struggles to remain relevant.
Keane goes the way of OneRepublic or Rob Thomas on the white-washed soul of “Stop For a Minute” (complete with an out of place rap from K’Naan), while edging towards The Killers’ territory (but only half as well) come “Your Love.” Aside from fans who absolutely adore this rhythmic transition, original Keane appreciators are best served sticking with its first two albums and hoping the band returns to its roots before becoming barely recognizable.
