Snoop Dogg
Malice In Wonderland

Campus Correspondent Review By Billy Ehrbar,
University of Chicago

Snoop Dogg’s new album Malice in Wonderland is one that most rap and hip-hop fans should be able to enjoy. Produced by Doggystyle Records, the album includes songs featuring Trey Songz, Lil Jon, The Dream, Kid Cudi and Jay-Z to name a few. Malice in Wonderland is Snoop’s tenth studio album that he has created over his illustrious career.

The CD has some truly enjoyable qualities. His old school, smooth, yet hard hitting lyrics are audible throughout the record, yet listeners will note that this is not a traditional Snoop Dogg album. The beats have evolved to compliment Snoop’s distinct rapping style incredibly well. New songs such as “1800” and “Pronto” can really get the blood flowing, while Snoop still stays true to himself and legacy with familiar sounds in songs such as “Gangsta Love” and “Love Drunk.”

He also throws in tracks such as “I Wanna Rock” and “That’s Tha Homie” that consist of a new type of sound for Snoop, which is quickly catchy, and easy to vibe alongside. All in all, the rap legend still has the “it” factor and displays it well throughout Malice and Wonderland.
