The Magnetic Fields
Realism

The indie pop band has a distinctive chamber pop sound that’s reflected nicely on its latest album, which singer Stephin Merritt has described as his “folk album.” We get a nice break from Merritt’s droning vocals in “Walk a Lonely Road” and “Painted Flower,” songs that feature guest singer Shirley Simms.
