The Spinto Band
Moonwink

Review By Chris Pacifico

The art of the clever pop song is something the Spinto Band has mastered. Since their fetching single “Oh Mandy” from 2005’s Nice and Nicely Done caught everyone’s attention, the band has toured the globe with artists such as Arctic Monkeys, Rilo Kiley and Art Brut. Moonwink is proof the band’s not just a one-trick pony. Singer Nick Krill’s quiver in the opener “Later On” meshes with the whirling slew of guitars and campfire harmonies before the band offers the listener a generous helping of zippy power pop with “Vivian, Don’t.” Anyone who’s had the privilege of seeing the Spinto Band in person (which is highly recommended) can’t help but take notice of how the band members dance on stage and if “The Cat’s Pajamas” and its youthful buoyancy doesn’t induce the slightest twitter, then it’s pretty clear Moonwink could be a litmus test to see if you have a jovial bone in your body.
