The Jonas Brothers
A Little Bit Longer

Review By Joe Walker

The Jonas Brothers are classified as a teen group, but I don't think they make strictly teen music. You have to give them a chance. When the 2008 single "Burnin' Up" was released, I gave it my attention. And The Jonas Brothers have held it. Much credit goes to 15-year-old Nick Jonas, the group's main songwriter. Persist if you will he's only penciling kids' stuff, and I'd again insist you're only looking at him, not observing his craft. Jonas is one heck of a lyric scribe, much better than his age might suggest. The title track is a good example. The song is compelling and personal. This, Jonas' third album, is full of mature songs. Brothers Kevin and Joe Jonas round out this trio of young, genuine musicians who write credible tunes. Face it; they're talented. At times, they even remind me on of The Police. The Brothers do get too teen trendy for my taste, like on "Video Girl" and "Sorry." Yet they make up for it with solid writing and singing and catchy choruses that aren’t too sappy.
